If desired the BioStyle Filters can be optimised to suit different aquarium needs through the use of different filter media booster cartridges. These cartridges fit easily into the BioStyle Filter, in place of the biological filter foam. The quantity of cartridges the filter chamber can hold depends on the size of the BioStyle filter.
The BioStyle Phosphate Remover Booster Cartridge provides a strong, fast acting option for the reduction of phosphate levels in the aquarium. This is performed by quickly and permanently binding phosphates so they can’t return to the water. The bead-shape media is highly porous to promote easy flow through, increasing efficiency and capacity. Free of heavy metals, Phosphate Binder is colourless and will not cloud the water.
Phosphate binder should be used only when needed and replaced after 2 to 6 weeks, depending upon aquarium size, number of fish and plants, and declines in filter performance.
